It is also this instincts which is the ego that causes us to use and also causes us to say, “enough is enough.” This is another way how it works for us or against us. We want to be able to love and be loved. When we feel we are not getting our needs met, it’s easy to become frustrated and use something to escape that pain. People then become addicts as a way to fill that void they long for, a void that cannot be filled, until one learns to love themselves.

The same applies to serial killers. There are three types of serial killers. One type kills for thrill, it satisfies his/hers addiction for a short time, killing to fill that void with a short high. These ones take longer to get caught for they try their best to dispose of the victim’s body so it won’t be found. Their killing is their choice of drug from the thrill. The attention seeker serial killer will leave the body displayed so that it can be found. He wants people to know what he done, even if he hides his identity. He seeks attention from others, which is his high, so he must display the bodies. He seeks attention, even if it’s bad attention. This type would prefer to be hated by most then not to be noticed at all, even though he would prefer to be loved by all. The third type is just careless and sloppy because he is too disorganized due to mental disorders.
